An elite, multi-site specialty group in North Carolina is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for a lucrative locum tenens opportunity starting in August. Driven by substantial practice growth, this position offers the chance to step into a highly efficient, high-volume surgical environment.
The opportunity offers exceptional scheduling flexibility, accommodating surgeons seeking a consistent, full-time routine or those looking to pick up at least one week per month to supplement an existing schedule. Clinical operations span two strategic, fully-equipped locations that place the surgeon directly within the thriving Charlotte metropolitan healthcare market.
The Flexibility & Schedule
- Location: Charlotte, NC 28054
- Commitment Options: 5 to 20 shifts per month (Minimum of 1 week per month up to full-time coverage).
- Assignment Dates: Commencing August 2026; ongoing.
- Weekly Shift Breakdown: Monday–Thursday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) & Fridays (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM). No late Fridays, evenings, or weekends.
Clinical Environment & Surgical Support
- Pace & Volume: 100% outpatient surgical flow, averaging 20 patients per day.
- Procedures: Dental implant placement, extractions, biopsies, bone grafting, and orthognathic (jaw) surgery.
- Elite Support Staff: Heavy auxiliary support designed to maximize surgical efficiency, including 1 Registered Nurse (RN), 4 Surgical Assistants, 1 Dedicated Implant Coordinator, 1 Sterilization Specialist, and 1 Surgical Support professional dedicated entirely to recovery room flow.
- Technology & Systems: Sensei software utilizing streamlined digital charting.
Compensation & Logistics
- Daily Rate: $5,000 per day.
- Travel & Housing: Premium lodging, mileage reimbursement or a rental vehicle, and approved airfare are fully provided.
- Credentialing Window: Up to 90 days (Fast-tracked execution for the August timeline).
- Requirements: Clear and active North Carolina dental specialty license, Board Certified/Board Eligible status, DEA, and BLS.
Licensing Assistance Note: For highly qualified surgeons not currently licensed in North Carolina, licensing reimbursement options are available to facilitate entry into the state market for this ongoing need.
