Locum Dentist Opportunity | Maternity Leave Coverage (Sheldon, IA)

A highly successful, single-doctor private practice in Sheldon, IA, is seeking a patient-focused Locum Dentist to provide dedicated maternity leave coverage starting this November. If you enjoy a welcoming, small-town community vibe where patient care always comes before sales quotas, this is the perfect turnkey assignment.

Quick Look Specs:

• Location: Sheldon, IA 51201
• Start Date: Early November 2026 (Potential for an October start to shadow/overlap with the owner)
• Duration: 2–3 months (Maternity leave block)
• Schedule: Monday – Thursday | Enjoy an early 3:00 PM finish every Thursday for a long weekend!
  • Mon (8a–4p), Tue/Wed (8a–5p with 1hr lunch), Thur (7a–3p)
• Compensation: Competitive, malpractice insurance, and weekly pay

Clinical Scope & Environment:

• The Vibe: Ethical, community-oriented dentistry. Keep the chair warm and maintain existing treatment plans.
• Daily Volume: Low-stress, premium pace. Just 8–10 patients per day + 8–10 hygiene checks.
• Procedures: General B&B restorative, fillings, bridges, and same-day CEREC crowns. Emergency capabilities (simple extractions/endo) are a plus, but you only handle what you are comfortable with.
• Tech Stack: Fully modern digital setup utilizing Dentrix and CEREC.
• Elite Support Crew: Strong, stable team comprising 4 Hygienists, 3 DAs, and 3 Front Office staff.
• Insurance: In-network with Delta Dental; No Medicaid.

Requirements & Interview:

• Active, clear Iowa Dental License & BLS. (DEA is a plus but not required).
• Interview Process: Fast and easy. An initial Zoom/phone call, with an optional office visit.
• Expedited 1–2 week credentialing.
