The Role
The incoming Dental Hygienist will enjoy appointment times that prioritize quality patient care rather than speed.
Typical appointment lengths include:
- Prophylaxis – 60 minutes
- Periodontal Maintenance – 60 minutes
- New Patient Appointments – 90 minutes
- Scaling & Root Planing – 90 minutes
Additional time can be scheduled whenever clinically appropriate to ensure patients receive exceptional care.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Adult and pediatric preventive care
- Periodontal therapy
- Scaling and root planing
- Comprehensive periodontal assessments
- Digital radiographs
- Local anesthesia (preferred)
- Co-diagnosing alongside doctors
- Patient education
- Recall scheduling
- Utilizing Overjet AI and Eaglesoft software
- Performing laser bacterial reduction following Periolase training
The practice encourages hygienists to think critically, collaborate with doctors, and actively participate in treatment planning rather than simply cleaning teeth.
